Johann Pachelbel - Fugue in C, P. 131

I always wanted to do synthesized interpretations of
baroque contrapuntal works a la Wendy Carlos. Rather
than go with the usual arrangements of J.S. Bach works, I
chose Pachelbel instead. The man has attained
contemporary popularity because of his Canon in D, P.
37, but his many works with better contrapuntal writing
are unfortunately overlooked. Hence, this presentation of
his Fugue in C major, P. 131.
The D.I.Y. synthesizer presets in this arrangement for this
album, along with applied orchestral doublings, allow for
colors and textures that offer a different listening
experience from the usual performances of the fugue on
pipe organ.
